I’m giving you the scoop a little late today because it’s my birthday y’all!!! And the Met Gala went down last night so I missed the blow by blow. A recap of last weekend’s hottest looks. Who sizzled and who burned? Let’s get into it.
Tika Sumpter was one of my favourite sightings over the weekend. She displayed caramel chocolate skin in a cream strapless dress paired with nude pumps at the ESPN Party. Her curly mane is to die for!
Tika later sashayed into the DirecTV Super Saturday Night looking even hotter in a white bralet top and a white cut out design see through Burberry skirt. She added a red lip to her white ensemble. Smoking!
Also at the DirecTV event was supermodel Chanel Iman who looked every bit a model in a purple bodice dress and similar colour lipstick. This colour was made for her. Chic!
I need this lipstick in my life.
Chanel was spotted at the Super Bowl XLVIII Party Hosted By Shape And Men’s Fitness before that in a white ribbed bodycon dress and nude pumps. That smoky eye? haute!
Ashanti is sporting a new blonde sideswept look. She styled it with a pair of washed denims, a white cropped tank under a tan fur snakeskin trimmed jacket at the DirecTV Super Saturday night. i think there’s a lot going on here and this look doesn’t work for Ashanti unfortunately. The blonde hair will have to grow on me but at the moment it washes her out.
She looked way better though at the ESPN party in all black leather.
Rihanna was spotted out and about looking girly in £465 Stella McCartney Warwick high-rise jacquard shorts and a matching blazer jacket. Those sandals are not for me but I love the shorts and jacket. #Serve!
LaLa Anthony, who has been busy promoting her new book, was spotted at Madison Square where she went to catch a Knicks game. She sizzled in a white jumper, distressed white denims, Louboutin pigalle spikes and hair to die for. #Slaythem!
Serena Williams looked pretty in a blue mesh insert bodycon dress at the Beats By Dr. Dre & GRAFF Diamonds special event. Her hair could have been tamer but her face is so pretty her!
Estelle also attended the event in a Virgos Lounge mirrored dress. Nice!
Anthony Mackie posed for a still with guests.
The fashionable DJ Kiss looked cute in a black slit skirt and white top.
Alexander Burke posed at the KWL’s 4th Annual Sports And Entertainment Celebration in a hot sparkly number and Christian Louboutin metallic pumps. Nailed it.
Alesha Dixon brought some colour to Birmingham for the Britains Got Talent Birmingham Auditions. She dressed up an orange Carven ribbed Dolman sleeved jumper with a £356 persimmon Carven belted satin A-line skirt. I like this.
Chrissy Teigen looked beautiful in a nude flesh tone dress at the Sports Illustrated & Jaguar Super Saturday VIP Event.
She wore a black drape frock the the Super Bowl party.
Stacy Keibler was the lady in red in ared jumpsuit and lips to match. Loved her look!
Adrienne Bailon went on trend with a peach beige coat and ripped jeans paired with nude Louboutins. Simple and casual chic at its best.
She was also pictured with close bud, RaVaughn.
Layla Kayleigh sizzled in a sequin embellished mesh insert body hugging dress at the Talent Resources Sports presents MAXIM “BIG GAME WEEKEND” in New York City.
It was all about aztec prints for Lil Mama at the party.
Jay Sean showed off his buff arms on the scene.
Model Jordan Keali finished off a skater white dress with bright orange pumps. Cute.
Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow were fresh to death,
Kendrick Lamar looked well cosy in a fur hat.
Claudia Jordan was styled in blue Herve Leger dress as seen on Toke Makinwa. Who wore it better?
Who were your best dressed this week?

Everyone’s being going crazy for nude colour pallettes lately. The winter whites phenomena is catching on for many good reasons. First off, nudes are very delicate and feminine, adding that soft and ethereal quality to any look. It’s very subtle yet elegant and classy.
Secondly, it is a a new and refreshing option to the expected all black everything look.
It also also looks great on all skin tones when done perfectly. Flesh tone outfits in nudes, beige and pastels have looked good one everyone from Emma Stone to Lupita Nyongo’o. I have been obsessed with pastel colours and it’s tricky to pull them off without looking washed out. So execution counts big time when wearing flesh tone colours and nude on dark skin tones especially.
Here are four outfit ideas if you’re in the mood for some nude!
Go business class by mixing rich textures of lace and wool cashmere. This look is an all round winner. especially if you are aiming for a demure and classy finish. Layer a rich camel coat on this Stella McCartney lace dress paired with a pair of nude Jimmy Choo Anouk pumps. Add a pair of mirrored sunnies for extra sass 🙂
I’d wear this look in a heart beat. Follow the trend and pair a cropped white top with a pair of expertly tailored beige nude trousers. Paired with Kurt Geiger Elliott Metal Stiletto Nude Patent Court heels and add a pop of lip colour for effect.
This can be worn two ways. Either as crop top and pencil skirt or as a faux dress. This £30 Jane Norman animal necklace embellished crop top unbelievably matched this Alexander McQueen jacquard pencil skirt on sale at Harvey Nichols, I couldn’t help but pair them up. I would probably wear this a dress though. But the crop top is trending (thanks to the Kardashians) so I’m sure the majority would sway that way.
This £220 Forever Unique nude jumpsuit is to die for! Match these with a pair of £45 Helsinki heeled sandals from ASOS. A £95 Fuschia Cross body Michael Kors bag and Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Luminous lip colour should do the finishing trick.
If you are into nude and pastels like myself, which look would you wear?

Ciara slayed in this Zara beige pearl embroidered blouse and beige pear embroidered skirt. Does she ever take a day off? I love this chic!
Alesha Dixon wowed at the Britain’s Got Talent Cardiff auditions in a pretty Stella McCartney blush pink suit featuring tapered jogger-style pants which give the look a relaxed, chic vibe. I am in love with this look.
Kim Kardashian has been loving this Celine camel coat lately. She’s certainly been strictly sticking to her nude and beige tones this 2014.
Lupita Nyongo’o looked precious in a nude one shoulder dress at the Producers Guild Awards. Her dark skin tone really complimented this nude dress. Loved it!
Rihanna working it in a flesh tone veil headpiece, nude low neck jumper, nude cigarette pants and Christian Louboutin nude pumps.
Emma Stone stood out in a coral Calvin Klein dress at the 2011 Golden Globes Award. This is one of my favourite looks from her. Ever.
Have an amazing weekend ahead.

Ashanti was spotted in NYC yesterday as she and her fabulous Mom stepped out to promote her starring role on hit series “Army Wives.” Ashanti donned a £ 1,785 Stella McCartney Green Mesh Insert Colour-Block Dress with a pair of £765 Azzedine Alaïa Circle-Detail Suede Sandals. She accessorized statement earrings and a leather bolero. My verdict? Gorge. She’s glowing even though her hair team needs a good ass whooping for that (wig?) weave.
Looking great Mama!

Hey peeps! What have you been doing to keep busy in my absence? Hehe. I have not put up an outfit in AGES. I apologise. As for me, I’ve been tidying up my closet. And by tidying I mean, reshuffling. You heard that right. I’m having one of style epiphanies where you feel like you want to experiment more with your style choices and take fashion risks. And it’s really exciting! I can’t elaborate on this now because I want to surprise everyone (myself included).
Nevertheless, at the moment, I’m loving the new trend this 2013 which so far has been dominated mainly by monochrome, stripes and two-tone. Read my post on Must-Have Skirts this season. I couldn’t wait to wear my H&M stripe blouse and mauve pencil skirt. I paired them with my Zara seriously-stylish heels which I have been so impatient to wear. These babies are to die for! This year seems to be about straight lines, black & white and graphic prints. I must say the few collections I’ve had a glimpse of are looking very good! Stella McCartney, Dior, Zara, Mango, H&M, J.C Penney and more are all playing straight. I hope it’s here to stay. Let us know what your favourite collection this season is.
Blouse -H&M (here)
Pencil Skirt – H&M (here)
Vamp Heel – Zara (here)
Clutch – River Island (really old)
