The American Music Awards went down last night in LA. Who wore what? Let’s get into our favourite ‘fit of the evening.

White was en vogue at the American Music Awards last night.

Miley Cyrus who just turned 21 (23 November) looked subdued and fresh-faced in a white trouser suit. Papa Billy Ray Cyrus was her plus one. Cute!

Fashion Star, Nicole Richie donned on a white cut out Emilio Pucci gown. I liked i until I saw the back of it. So risqué! She pulls it off though.

Kendall Jenner was grown and sexy in a Keepsake white strapless cut out dress. Stunner.

Kylie Jenner brought out her dark side with a full on fringe and leather ankle boots. She looks gorge.

Zendaya Coleman was a dream in a Donna Karan white ensemble and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Voice coach Christina Aguilera showcased her slim frame in a white Maria Lucia Hohan gown and Christain Louboutin sparkly heels.

Ciara looked toned in a J.Mendel gown. She’s always a hit in my book.

Zoe Saldana looked beautiful as always.

Rihanna wore her in a wrap to receive her Icon award. She’s always leading with these hair trends eh? I wonder if this one will catch on. Her skin is flawless. Her Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble fit to a tee.

Naya Rivera wore a black body keyhole gown. Sultry.

Jordin Sparks is such a beauty. She goofed around on the carpet in a spike embellished gown.

Heidi Klum repped in a lace LBD.

I just found out about this stunning actress today. She’s smoking. Her name, Maia Mitchell. See more of her on the The Fosters.

Jenna Ushkowitz opted for colour in a bright coral dress.

Jennifer Hudson looked amazing in a Christian Dior dress. Not her favourite look but she’s so pretty.

Rocsi Diaz was cute in a red dress.

Lady Gaga looked gorge. But she’s not gaga without her gimmicks so she brought one along…

Taylor Swift opted for a little gold dress. Her eyes. OMG.

Sexy girl group, Danity Kane were also on hand. Serving high slits, plunging necklines and sultry pouts from every angle. Werk!

Lil Mama has found solace in her favourite colour, green.

Katy Perry went for old Hollywood glam in a black gown and red lips.

Ke$ha looked great. For some strange reason I like her hair :p

Jaimie Alexander looked smoking in a black jumpsuit.

I want Emma Roberts‘ shoes and clutch.

Ariana Grande is so adorable.
Andrew McCutchen

Kendrick Lamar was in good spirits.

Rapper 2 Chainz was colourful for the evening.

There are so many reasons why I love Christmas. One of them is that Christmas is a time to give. That warm feeling you get when you get a chance to show your loved ones how special they are to you. As much as we all love to give, picking out the perfect gifts for our special ones can be somewhat tricky.

The first rule to gifting is, give a gift that never goes out of style. And when I think of that, I think of diamonds.Yes, this good old classic always does the trick.

I was browsing through Anjolee’s gemstone and diamond jewellery collection recently when I stumbled upon a handful of precious goodies and thought, I’d definitely fancy those this Christmas! Anjolee is a successful high-end jewellery manufacturer of bridal jewellery, rings, diamond tennis bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and pendants. Their pieces are quality-guaranteed and 100% authentic. The site is user-friendly and lets you design your own pieces!

Here are a few gift  ideas on what to wrap up for that special someone this Christmas.

Eternity Rings

They are timeless. One does not go wrong with such an elegant and classic piece.

Stud Earrings

Who doesn’t love them? Have one specially cut to your taste by customizing your item to the tiniest detail.

Tennis Bracelets

Diamond tennis bracelets are an all time favourite.Opt for this sleek and classy style.

Gemstone Drop Earrings

I fell in love with these earrings the moment I saw them. How gorgeous are they! I even found a matching ring and tennis bracelet to make a complete set.

I even went ahead and dared to pair this jewellery set in an outfit. This is how I’d wear these:

Okay, enough hint-dropping!

From men’s jewellery, to engagement rings and fashion pieces; you can always find the showstopping piece from Anjolee’s repertoire of jewellery that will allow your loved one to steal the show.

I’ve missed doing my weekly sizzling out and about sightings. But our favourite fashion loving celebrities have just been slaying lately I just to rekindle this feature. Let’s see who wore what where this week.

Newly engaged Ciara graced the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at Lexington Avenue Armory with her flawless self in a navy silk-satin drape dress with a high slit from the Fall 2013 Prabal Gurung collection. I don’t know about this crazy rumour going that Ciara is pregnant but she’s certainly glowing. Estelle was also at the Victoria’s Secret show. She worked a black leather dress with zip detailing. Knee-high boots and a turban finished her look. Lala Anthony came out to slay in a blue fitting dress, highlighted locks and a beat face. Nude Louboutin pumps completed her look. Pretty!

Meagan Good came out in a sheer LBD and black satin Christian Louboutin pumps at the the GQ Men Of The Year Party. The see through top almost ruined this otherwise chic look. Her face is gorgeous though.

Lupita Nyongo’o was also in attendance at the GQ Men of The Year Awards and shone like a gem in a £771.85 Cushnie et Ochs dusty pink cut out jersey dress. She added white Christian Louboutin pumps to her look.Get into that skin tone! And am glad she wear bright lip colours, works well for her. Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh were also in tow. They are a cute pair. Trey Songz and his ex Tanaya Henry came as friends. He also posed for a few snaps with Serge Ibaka, Keri Hilson’s boo.

Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka were all about letting the ladies drool… Long time no see, Kid Cudi! And Aziz Ansari.

Jennifer Hudson had a spotlight moment when she was honoured with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The singer picked a white Stella McCartney dress and Gianvantino Rossi PVC pumps for the event. Congrats JHud! The short hair is looking nice too!

Naomie Harris was to die for at the LA Premiere Of ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ . Naomie opted for a pale blue Vionnet dress with plunging sides. The cut outs highlight her sculpted figure. Bermudez wasn’t one to miss the H&M Isabel Marant VIP Pre Shop Event at H&M. She came in this season’s plaid top, a leather look skirt and loafers from Zara.

Yvonne Nelson turned 28 and celebrated on the beach in her birthday suit. What better way? Loving the black two piece. Happy birthday Yvonne Nelson:)

What is she eating…or doing?! Nia Long stays looking young and fabulous. She slayed in classic white dress at the ‘The Best Man Holiday’ screening at the Chelsea Bow Ties Cinemas in NYC.

Her co-stars Sanaa Lathan, Melissa De Sousa and Taye Diggs also looks cute.

R.Kelly channelled Rough Copy or is it Kanye West…

White seems to be the colour of the moment. Nigerian artist, Tiwa Savage looked dashing in a white dress and well-laid hair at Annie Idibia’s baby shower.

Former “ANTM” runner-up, Eugena Washington was spotted with Daphne Joy (50 Cent’s baby mama) out at RivaBella in West Hollywood. She looks great. I loved her on America’s Next Top Model. (Image courtesy of The YBF)

Jessie J switched on the London Christmas Lights at Selfridges on Oxford Street in a red pair of trousers, barely- there sandals and a bodysuit.

There’s my round up for the week.

Who rocked your boat and who sank it?

Naomie Harris and most of the guys killed it.

 Have a fun TBT.

I’m having the most perfect weekend ie warmly wrapped in my favourite cardigan, finishing a home-cooked meal while watching back to back catch up episodes of Breaking Bad: I’m having the time of my life.

Which doesn’t sound half as fun as what some of our favourite fashion-loving celebs were up to last night as they hit the red carpet at the 2013 Soul Train Music Awards. Bodycons, cut outs and mesh detailing abounded on the red carpet. Let’s see the round up:

Jennifer Hudson looked scrumptious in an Art Deco-patterned Balmain Spring 2012 dress, which boasts a short hemline and low-cut front. Her short cut really works for her. Hot!

Ashanti looked gorgeous in a sheer blush dress. Hot as usual.

Chris Brown’s latest protege, Sevyn Streeter shut it down in a plunging neck dress. Super cute. Love the rings too.

Toni Braxton is just flawless. She stepped out on the carpet with singer Babyface. They are both  promoting their upcoming duet collabo album Love Marriage & Divorce, due out February 4th.

Janelle Monae always manages to look chic and fresh in her trademark black and white look. I want her shoes.

Malinda Williams was beautiful as always in a white ruffle peplum dress.

Chrisette Michele was rocker chick in a black  skater dress with a leather bustier. She always looks cute but the chest area looks a tad ill-fitted.

Bridget Kelly looked sleek in a black dress.

Alicia Quarles looked flawless in a perfect-for-fall purple jumpsuit.

Michelle Williams looked pretty in a green print dress.

Keshia Knight Pulliam looked gorge in a blue dress. Her Jimmy Choo pumps are to die for.

Faith Evans looks beautiful as ever! A print bodycon dress and strappy sandals were her pick for the evening.

Say what you want but Lil’ Mama is not letting go of her green locks. Not now anyway. I’m not feeling her outfit here but her face is beat.

The ever-sultry Vivica A. Fox opted for box braids for the event. Hot!

‘Down A** Chick’ Charli Baltimore is back and looking fly! Who remembers her? Hope she sticks around, I’m loving her look here.

The beautiful Nicole Ari Parker and husband Shemar Moore were on hand.

K Michele and her trademark red locks rocked the carpet.

Michelle Epps

MC Lyte made her mark in leather.

Porscha Coleman

Chaka Khan showed young Hollywood how it’s done.

Traci Braxton
Traci, Trina and Towanda Braxton

Nigerian artist, Iyanya repped for Africa.
Keith Sweat
Bobby Valentino
Alaska Gedeon and Kimberly Gedeon
Dione Watkins
Kenny Lattimore
Eric Benet
Kristen Baker Bellamy and Bill Bellamy
Tristan Wilds

And there you have it.

Whose look rocked your boat? Whose didn’t?

Enjoy your Saturday.

Continuing with the theme from my last Outfit Of The Day of repping for Camer talent, I present Mesanga Fashion House

Some weeks ago, the talented and lovely Cameroonian designer Yve Mesanga sent me over this beautiful jacket in one of my favourite colours; blue. You have read about MFH before in my previous post on the African Fashion Week New York runway show where they slayed a few months back. I’ve been more than excited to wear this blazer as it’s so rare to find African designs anywhere in Birmingham.

I finally got the chance to showcase this amazing blazer. I opted for all white, so I let the bright blazer be the showstopper of the outfit. This MFH piece boasts a rouched shoulder detail, two pockets in contrasting African print and its lapels are lined with the same fabric. It’s such a great piece to own because there’s so many ways to wear it. I already know what I’m gonna wear this with next 🙂 If you like what you see, there’s much more exclusively on the Mesanga Fashion House site

On a totally unrelated note: As I was taking pictures for this blog post, guess who sashayed by on a quiet Sunday afternoon almost unnoticed by me; Omotola Jalade aka Omosexy herself!

I almost didn’t recognize her because she looked super casual and relaxed. And then I was like, hold up, it’s Omotola! I asked her for a picture but she took one look at my camera and said; “Hey, it’s a professional camera. Chei, I’m not dressed up now. But I’ll give you a hug though.”:(  My mom’s going to be so jealous. #ihuggedyourphave. Mwahahaha!

That made my Sunday. What made yours?

We all know I’m addicted to lists by now.

Blogging is about sharing. So the first thing that pops into my head the minute I stumble upon something is, I HAVE to share this with my readers!

Being on an attempt at a natural journey, it’s no wonder that I have considered dreadlocks as a hairstyle. But then again, I’ve heard, more than a hundred times really, how boring they get after a while. Assuming, you don’t have as much freedom to play with weaves, extensions, relaxed, cropped and all other different hairstyles, some people are bound to feel stuck to wearing the same style every damn time. First of all, almost everyone hates being restricted to the same style over long periods. Second of all, that is entirely false and mythical. I have seen locked sisters rock the most unexpected and innovative styles that make me want to wear my nappy hair in locks. If you are one of those who is running out of ideas on how to wear your dreadlocks or if you want to start keeping them, here’s a post to inspire you. Here’s a tonne of stunning ladies who I just had to make another list about. While you’re at it, find out how to maintain your dreadlocks. But first, let’s get into these warloc’d beauties:

Pop Ya Colour

We all know the quickest and easiest way to add some spice to an old style is to dye it! See what these ladies did:

Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily has the cutest dreads ever! I love how she made them stand out with the pop of platinum blonde.

Buns are great way to keep locs coiffed and neat especially if you’re dressing up for a special event:) Playing with voluminous buns against neat edges is always fun.

Or you can break free from regular buns and try out of the box bun and updo styles like these:

Have you ever tried curling your locs? You’d be amazed at the results…

42. Chescaleigh is one my favourite natural hair bloggers. She has a million and one ways to style her locs. Gosh!

Be brave and try shaving off some sides of your locs. This might be tricky if you are not ready to chop off the rest of your locs when you get tired of rocking the shaved sides. The new short sides might be hard to manage once they start growing out. But if you’re going to stick with the low sides for quite a while, then what’s to stop you?!

60.Model Kateria Typhani Manning is a killah!

Accessorize your locs with headwraps, breads and other fabulous ornaments.

71. Take inspiration from these gorgeous natural brides.

At the end of the day, no matter your hair or style; nothing beats a healthy dose of confidence and a winning smile.

79. Sepsenahki Aahkhu a.k.a Chef Ahki is famous for having the sexiest blonde locs under the sun.

Hope you found these styles refreshing and inspiring.

Which ones will you be trying out?

Have a blast this weekend!
