You must be sick by now of my excuses of where I’ve been, why I’ve been where I’ve been, what I’ve been up to and yada yada. Frankly, I am too. I have no excuse but damn pure laziness and cuddling-weather which makes me want to lie in all day and watch back to episode of my favourite tv shows (ie Peep Show and Modern Family). How I manage to get up every morning and make my way through the fog to work is a miracle entirely. I swear, I wish I could call in and say, I’ve broken a nail, I can’t turn up today. And that would be the honest truth! Like frankly, don’t you have days when the silliest of things just make you feel like lying in and wallowing in your self-pity with only tubs of ice-cream and reruns of project Runway to comfort you? Things like breaking a nail, or kicking your toe, VERY hard, as you rush out of the house, or having your trash bag burst open and spilling out just before you take it out, or burning your forehead as you try to tong your hair in a rush, or biting your tongue as you swear…Gosh, I’ve had one too many of those mornings.
They feel impossible, like fitting squares pegs into round holes.
But who cares? Life can be impossible sometimes. The only thing that matters is putting an outfit together that will wow impatient bus-waiters as they sit in the cold waiting for their buses, an ensemble that is so mesmerizing all traffic lights will turn red instantly because you are too bloody hot…Ha! I’m joking!! I ran out of what to say.
Nonetheless, I am happy with how my outfit of the day turned out. Dressing up for winter is my fashion hell. I am not fond of heavy jackets and unnecessary layering (snoods, gloves, socks, urgh.). Luckily, I found the perfect coat this season that is warm yet stylish enough to pair with anything. It is just too comfy. My leather look pants I got from H&M  a while back and have only worn them once. But, now I know why Kanye West can’t give up on his leather pants (even in the summer!). They are hella sexy! I just felt comfy yet baddie in them. Guess I’ll be rocking them more often, don’t know about summer though.

Jacket – French Connection

Top – H&M

Heels – H&M

 City Bag – Zara

 Leather look trousers – H&M

  Accessories – Dorothy Perkins, Topshop

I am introducing a new segment to my blog posts which is basically a countdown of all most of my favourite looks from a particular celeb, style icon or blogger. This is different because it not only highlights modern style but throws us back to some of those outfits that we might have loved back then but have forgotten. Why 12? Well nothing special about the number really. I was singing the 12 Days of Christmas to my self and just decided to settle for the number:) I might alter the figure with time though. Believe me there are some style icons for whom I can name 50 outfits in a row that I have liked so far (Solange Knowles be warned), but I’ll keep it short an simple nevertheless.
My first Top 12 spotlight is Miranda Kerr, Australian wife, mother and model. The 29 year Victoria’s Secret Angel and spouse to Orlando Bloom is the epitome of effortless chic in itself. Man, this girl can rock a pair of pants like there’s no tomorrow. Maybe it’s the model and long legs factor, but she makes even the simplest of looks very chic and effortless. Here are my Top 12 Miranda Kerr looks.
I love the simplicity of this look. She makes a simple white blouse and leather pants very classy. Read my post on how to work a monochrome outfit here.

2.Over the Knee Boots

I love how she transforms this look with a pair of sexy, eye-catching yet understated over the knee boots.

3. Sheath Dress

This look is so polished. It combines sexy yet sweet style. The model worked a long-sleeve Victoria Beckham sheath with coral Lanvin pumps while strolling the streets of NYC. She accessorized her flawless style with a baby blue Prada  tote, cat-eye Miu Miu shades, and a few delicate jewels.

4.Street casual
I love how she paired leather shorts with a simple white tee, cat-eye sunnies, matte red lips, a black cross body bag, and slightly unexpected burgundy heels. Again it all boils down to her perfectly toned yet lean legs.

5. White Pants
I died and went to heaven when I saw Miranda in this outfit. Two words: Flaw.Less.
I even did a full blog post on it. Read here.

6.Panel Pants
Miranda Kerr definitely got the memo when she was spotted in beige cropped panel pants which were a huge trend in the summer. I would wear those black pumps any day, anytime.

7. Red Dress
Miranda shows of her gawjus figure in this red dress with a body hugging skirt. Those sandals are everything. J’aime.

8. All Black Errthang
Need I say more? Wearing an all black in top chic form is an art. Read more on all black outfits here and see my black OOTD.

As a lover of everything persimmon orange, this dress gave me an orgasm. Very well cut and structured, it is a dress that will easily transform from a day to a night look.
10. Wedges
Bodycon + Wedge heels = a combination I am guilty of wearing too often. Yet I can’t get enough of it. Those Diane Von Furstenberg wedges look like the most comfortable things ever. Get the deets on the wedges here.

11.Rocker Chic
Miranda adds a little sass to her soft girly looks with a black biker leather jacket, black ankle boots and a hi-low skirt.

12.Animal Instinct
This simple strapless leopard print dress is to die for. It’s probably one of those dresses that look very boring on the rack but the moment you put them on, wham! Instant bombshell. Anyone can be seen wearing  this but how you wear it and make it different, matters.

Which looks are your picks out of the 12? Have I left out any of your top outfits from Miranda Kerr? Sound off below!

Think sharp, stay sharp!

Mia Taylor is my style star today. I just love her confidence and positive aura.
I’m Mia Taylor. I’m from Charlotte, NC by way of Cincinnati, OH. I’m a 24 year old fashion blogger who received my B.S. in journalism. I love writing and I love fashion. I started blogging back in 2008 before blogging was even the “in” thing to do. I created Diary of a Fatshionista in May 2010.
What is your dressing style? What influences your style choices? (Could be ethnic influences, vintage and couture, street smart…)
I say my style is Beauty Meets the Streets. I love being dolled up all the time, but having an edge. Hair, makeup, and nails are always the finishing touches on any outfit. My favorite fashion icons, Kardashians, Rihanna, Lala, Rachel Zoe, influence my selections. I like seeing celebrities’ street fashion and putting my own touch on it. Instagram has been a huge influence lately too. I see so many fabulous women and I recreate their looks with my own flair.
-Which brands or designers ‘speak to you’ the most?
I love ASOS so much! They are so trendy, but it’s at a wallet-friendly price. I love Givenchy, Celine, and Versace right now. They are so popular in the urban community, which is major!
– Any beauty secrets? Favourite make-up brands?
I’m a MAC addict, but I try everything. I love regular finds at your Target or Walmart. My favorite product is the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation. It’s the best. All of my lipsticks are MAC. Lipsticks are my favorite go-to product because they can really change your look. To many surprise, I don’t have a huge makeup collection. My looks are always the same – dark eyeliner, double up on the false lashes, highlighted/bronzed/ contoured face, and a bold lip. My eyebrows are achieved with MAC Stud pencil and Embark eyeshadow to fill in.
-What is the most beautiful thing about you?
I love my legs and lips. I’m 5-10 and my long legs are my favorite feature. I love mini dresses to accentuate my legs. I love my smile, so my lips are always in a popping color.
-If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be and why?
I would love to trade places with Kim Kardashian for a week. She’s America’s most loved and hated woman. I would just love to sit in her chair and have her glam team make me gorgeous and go shopping without a care in the world. Oh, and stroll around the world with her beau, Kanye West.
-Your favourite music track would be…?
“Demonstrate” by Jojo.
-What is your favourite trend right now?
Maxi skirts with the thigh high slits. Super sexy, but covering.
-If your life was a movie, what would be its title and who would play you?
Diary of a Fabulous, Fat, and Funny Woman. I don’t know who could play me except me!
-Your top 5 must-haves:
-My iPhone,
-Fake lashes,
-MAC lipsticks,
-and long weave!
-Your house is in flames, what one item would you save out of your closet and why?
My vintage Louis Vuitton purse.
-Your all time fashion icon is…
Marilyn Monroe
-Your favourite quote/saying
“I can’t see.”
-Do you have any blog, video links or website we can catch you at?
Thanks Mia for honouring my blog with this lovely feature! Your makeup is well on point. What do you think of Mia’s style? Vote now!

Designing in Cameroon is a very challenging task to take upon oneself. It is for this reason that I commend all the young and budding designers to continue to be unrelenting in showcasing their talent. We had a first peak at Yvy’s sizzling collection a few weeks ago, today we’ll be going chic with Afroshic Clothing.
Afroshic Clothing which was created the young and talented Miss Reneta Ndisang just unveiled its new collection called Diary of a Happy Woman. The Afroshic Clothing brand is all about promoting the Sexy, Sassy and the Sensational woman. The label caters for women of all shapes and sizes.
Reneta explains that the new Spring Summer 2013 collection “The Diary of a Happy Woman” is about the strength and energy a woman in the society has. The colours symbolize faith, hope, love and happiness.
Her inspiration for the collection came from the women in her family as well as her surroundings. Fabrics in the collection include silk, chiffon, taffeta, Ankara and cotton. I am in love with the beautiful draping on some of those pieces. Especially that purple dress!
The collection is available for grabs! Visit the Afroshic Clothing page on Facebook or contact Reneta Ndisang  at or via this number 0023791214549 to pre-order yours now. Here’s a sneak peak of what you’ll be going in for:

It’s time once again to discover who’s been heating up our streets.
First up is Jessica Ennis who killed it in a Stella McCartney satin contrast panel dress at the Harper’s Bazaar Woman of the year Awards. I did a double take when I saw her in this dress. I literally thought her waist line was that tiny! Props to Stella McCartney again for making a simple design look well expensive and elegant. The Olympic Champion paired her dress with nude Louboutin pumps. Loving the red lips. Class.

Brit singer Emeli Sande was also in attendance in new season florals, sporting a long-sleeved dress by Preen. I’m all for vampy and deep reds this time of the year but just not feeling this combo on Emeli. Sorry hun. Lovely makeup though.

Rihanna kept things mysterious in an all black everything ensemble. She paired her Dolce & Gabbana lace panel skirt with Azzedine Alaia mesh ankle booties and a ribbed top. Miss the pixie cut but am hoping she’s only sporting this new look for a video shoot. As usual her skin is gorge.

The self-proclaimed female Weezy, Nicki Minaj was spotted leaving her London Hotel with DJ boyfriend Safaree Samuels. Nicki was a walking candy shop as per usual. I actually loved her ensemble of an embellished bralet and a denim jacket paired with whitewashed jeans and thigh high Christian Louboutin booties. This outfit is my guilty pleasure:) Though I could go without the baseball hat.

Kourtney, Kim, Scott and Kanye had fun on their double date last night. Kourtney Kardashian went for a draped cream blush dress and a bright lip to add some colour Her baby daddy Scott Disick colour coordinated with a suit in a similar colour. Loving this look guys.

Kim Kardashian meshed-up her look. She opted for a lace top, black leather pants and Dolce & Gabbana lace booties. Kanye kept it simple in jeans and a white tee.
Christina Milian celebrated her boyfriend’s Jas Prince’s birthday in a red cutout dress and red Celine leather tote.
Nicole Scherzinger shut it down in a white Bibi Bachtadze backless dress and Guiseppe Zanotti crystal-heel suede pumps. This look is definitely a showstopper in my book.
Last but definitely not least, Zawe Ashton killed it at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards. She wore a dress from Chalayan’s Fall 2012 collection  with a plunging v-neck and thigh-high slit.
Who is your favourite this week? And who just didn’t make the cut?
