Style Diary: Tanesha A

Today’s Style Diary surely must look familiar to a lot of you. Tanesha is popurlarly known in the blogosphere as ‘Girl With Curves,’ and has one of them most inspiring blogs for curvy women I have come across. Tanesha’s started her blog because she wanted to change lives through fashion. And she sure is doing that! tanesha has been featured in Glamour, Marie Claire and Forever 21 which only goes to show two things:

1. Love your body. Other people will appreciate and love your body only as much as you do.

2. The web is what you make of it, dedicated blogging will take you places.

Let’s get to know more about Tanesha’s style regimen.

I’m Tanesha Awasthi from San Francisco. My main blog is called Girl With Curves and I want to change lives through fashion.

My style can be described as classic with a twist on trend– I like to wear trends on occasion, but I make them my own. I’m in love with all things vintage, including Holywood actresses like Marilyn, Sophia Loren…

Which brands or designers ‘speak to you’ the most? I really love Oscar de la Renta for his whimsical gowns.

Any beauty secrets? Sunscreen and moisturizer is a daily must!

Favourite make-up brands are  Bare Essentials, MAC, Dior

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be and why? My Great Grandma, she was a designer in San Francisco for most of her life and I wish I could have a glimpse into what it was like as a designer in the 20’s & 30’s!

What is your favourite trend right now? Bold color, I’m a sucker for anything yellow.

Your top 5 must-haves:

-Skinny jeans

-a blazer

-peep toe pumps

-statement necklace

-and a midi length, vintage-inspired pencil skirt

Your house is in flames, what one item would you save out of your closet and why? My antique, gold bangles from India.

Your all time fashion icon is… Olivia Palermo, she always looks stylish, chic, classic and on-trend, all at once.

Your favourite quote/saying – “A woman’s dress should be tight enough to show she’s a woman, and lose enough to show she’s a lady.”  I forgot to say it, but I remember that every time I go dress shopping.
